Adchieve: unlimited growth after Azure migration
From server crashes to stable performance without downtime
The growth in processing data from millions of online ads caused hiccups in database performance and application availability for Adchieve. Through years of collaboration with TrueFullstaq, they found their next growth solution: migration to Azure. Discover how the process went and what results it delivered.

SaaS for automated online advertising
Adchieve is a SaaS solution for online marketing automation. Rik Coenders, Product Owner: "We automatically manage ads at scale for companies on platforms like Google Ads, Bol, and Facebook. Companies send us product feeds that we process into advertisements using templates that customers can customize."
"We make performance transparent: what works and what doesn't," adds Geerco de Voogd, COO. "This helps e-commerce and travel organizations get more revenue from every marketing dollar."
Development in Symphony with MySQL and forays into Python
"Our application is built with Symphony, a PHP framework, with data stored in MySQL. We also programmed a task system ourselves; nothing on the market met our needs," says Rik. "Additionally, we use Python to process and analyze large datasets. We're experimenting with Databricks, a data lake platform, which can take a lot of configuration work off our hands, allowing us to focus on the data itself."
Hosting challenges
"Our application has been running with TrueFullstaq for over 10 years," explains Geerco. "With growing ad volumes, the hosting solution became insufficiently scalable. The application would regularly crash, and servers couldn't handle the amount of data anymore."
"Running just one backup could cause the server to crash," says Rik. "The need for a new solution was urgent."
Azure as the solution
TrueFullstaq worked out three scenarios, with Azure Public Cloud emerging as the best option. "It offers the flexibility we need and makes our infrastructure future-proof," says Geerco.
A Proof of Concept (PoC) was built to test the migration. "We moved part of our workload to Azure, which gave us a clear picture of how the full application would perform," explains Rik.
Makke Post, Public Cloud Engineer at TrueFullstaq: "The migration went smoothly thanks to our joint plan. We set up four database servers, two with extra resources for heavy workloads. The databases run on business-critical database servers optimized for memory-intensive tasks."
An important advantage is geographical redundancy: "The database backups are stored in a different region. If the primary region fails, all data remains available."
A future-proof foundation
"The migration has greatly improved our stability," says Rik. "We have the same speed as before, but without downtime. We no longer need to check on weekends if everything is still running."
Geerco: "An added benefit is that we can now calculate and charge database resources per client. Moreover, this migration feels like a new foundation that offers us many more possibilities for the future."
The successful collaboration between Adchieve and TrueFullstaq has led to a more robust, future-proof infrastructure ready for further growth.
